The TLC Board of Directors is made up of community members whose positions include two pastors, registered nurse, architect, retired assistant school superintendent, banker, and independent businesses owners. With a vast array of knowledge and experience, this allows for strategic planning, effective communication, and ensuring all issues related to the changing needs of the shelter and homeless are addressed.

TRACY SHORT,  PRESIDENT

Lakeshore Medical Group

Helping people to be able to regain control over their lives and to be able to live and function independently makes for healthier and happier individuals, stronger families, and better communities. I have had every opportunity in my life and I feel deeply that to give to others, so that they may also have opportunities to grow, be happy and have productive lives, is important.

I firmly believe in the transformative power of the TLC program. The respect and high expectations our staff has for our clients results in independence and confidence. TLC is making a difference and I am proud to serve on its Board of Directors.

JON THORNGATE

Life Bridge Community Church

“Born and raised in Burlington, the local kid in me is passionate about reaching out to a community that I love so much. As a Christian, my faith calls me to help people in need: to provide for the physical needs of individuals as well as the spiritual ones. As a Pastor, I want to see local churches partnering closely with organizations like TLC to make a difference in the lives of people who need help. I love how TLC meets those needs intentionally and effectively and I’m excited to be a part of the TLC family.”
